Comprehensive Eye Examinations
Yearly eye examinations are an important part of your overall healthcare. Many vision problems, eye diseases and other health related issues can be detected early by a comprehensive vision exam performed by a licensed optometrist. A comprehensive eye exam includes:
- Glaucoma testing
- Pupil dilation
- Visual Acuity testing
- Retinoscopy
- Cover test
- Refraction
- Slit-lamp examination
Dr. Lax will take the time to answer any questions or concerns you may have during the exam. A comprehensive eye exam will determine if you require vision correction and you may be issued a prescription for eye glasses.
Contact Lens Fittings
A Contact Lens Fitting exam is separate from your comprehensive eye exam and cannot be performed while your pupils are dilated. Contact lens fittings take more than one visit to complete. Generally the process requires two visits. During the first visit Dr. Lax will discuss what type of lenses will work best for your lifestyle, such as if you would like to change your eye color with cosmetic lenses, what wear schedule will work best for you and if you have any special vision needs such as an astigmatism that requires correction. You’ll receive a pair of trial lenses to wear for several days and return to the office for a final fitting check to make sure the lenses are comfortable and providing the best vision.

LASIK Consultation
